Childhood Chat
We enjoyed our visit to the Museum of childhood last week.
The special exhibition was all about child migration from England between 1869 and 1970. What did you learn about these children? How did it link to our topic?
We also explored the rest of the museum and discovered lots of toys and games from the past. Some displays brought back memories for our Year 6 teachers!

Which toys and games did you like the look of most Peter?
DeleteOne child had burnt his kitchen and he was sent away from his family. The children expressed themselves by creating music. Over 90,00 were sent away.

Deletei found the part about toys of the past very interesting because we have very advanced toys now but most of us don't know about what children played in the past

DeleteI learnt that when chocolate was rationed you would only get 2 blocks and you had too be over 35m or in to join the war.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the place where we could collect stamps in the Imperial War Museum because they let us listen to things and they let us read comics! :)
